Zhanna Kadyrova: The Forest

IHME Helsinki Commissions are made together with an artist or artist group and Finnish and foreign partners, in public space in Finland and abroad. Ukrainian artist Zhanna Kadyrova’s IHME Helsinki Commission 2025 was The Forest exhibition at the Power Plant Museum, in Vanhankaupungikoski, Helsinki, from 24 August to 2 October 2025.

Kadyrova examined the consequences of Russia’s destruction of the Kakhovka dam, the past and future of Zaporizhzhia region, and nature’s regenerative ability. Kadyrova is interested in waterways and energy infrastructures, which connects her work with the history, present and future of Vanhankaupunginkoski Rapids.
