IHME Helsinki is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist

IHME Helsinki is a contemporary-art-commissioning organization that combines art, science and climate work. Each year, we produce a work of art in public space, as well as events intended to create a vision and hope in the midst of the environmental crisis. IHME aims to promote eco-social education, a sustainable, democratic society, and a diverse, good life. IHME has been courageously producing new, previously unseen art for a variety of audiences for fifteen years. IHME’s events are open and free to anyone interested. IHME Helsinki Commission 2022 is the online course Learning from Doubt by Indian artist Amar Kanwar, running from February 15 to May 3, 2022. Kanwar’s films will be screened for the first time in Finland at Bio Rex cinema in Lasipalatsi on May 4, 2022. IHME Helsinki’s values ​​are freedom of art, environmental responsibility and equality.

As IHME Helsinki’s Marketing Communications Specialist we offer you an opportunity to participate in the distribution of works of art made by internationally acclaimed artists to various audiences. In your work you will learn practical ways of assessing and reducing the carbon footprint of and implementing ecologically sustainable practices in marketing and communications. You will learn about the importance of biodiversity and ways to promote a green handprint in your work. You will receive orientation on the information provided by artists and experts on the themes of the commissions. You will be an integral part of IHME’s core team and be involved in giving audiences hope amid the environmental crises.

As IHME Helsinki’s Marketing Communications Specialist you work closely with the Foundation’s Executive Director and Eco-Coordinator on IHME Helsinki’s marketing and communications, information and event production. You carry out your duties in an ecologically sustainable way, also taking equality goals into account. Those tasks include budget responsibility for your own area of ​​responsibility. The place of work is IHME’s office in the centre of Helsinki.

The job will start on April 25, 2022, or later, as agreed, and will continue full-time for 37.5 hours per week. The employment relationship is agreed until further notice, and includes a probationary period. Salary in the spirit of Viesti ry’s salary recommendations. Opportunity for orientation April 12-13, 2022.

Duties of the Marketing Communications Specialist:

1) Drawing up the marketing and communications strategy together with the Executive Director and Eco-Coordinator, and planning, implementing, measuring and reporting on IHME Helsinki’s online communications and visibility on social media.

2) Planning and production of marketing communications and paid advertising, drafting and distributing newsletters and press materials, and updating the Gruppo contact-information register.

3) Acting as a producer for IHME Helsinki events, planning and implementing annual feedback on commissions and events

4) Planning and implementing venue visibility for the annual public work of art, taking accessibility into account

5) Preparing for meetings, maintaining the office and archiving (e.g. media monitoring, websites, audio-visual materials) and guiding trainees in your own area of ​​responsibility.

6) Assisting in other assigned tasks, if necessary.

Skills required for the job

The position requires experience in marketing and communications, and an ability to further develop your own area of responsibility in line with developments in the field. The job requires the ability to produce fluent content based on the organization’s values ​​for websites and social media channels. The person selected for the position will have experience of independently staged events that take audience diversity and accessibility into account. We expect the applicant to have excellent oral and written proficiency in Finnish and English, as well as knowledge of common computer programs. The person suited to the job is proactive, meticulous and has excellent interaction skills, as well as an ability to solve problems, including in swiftly moving situations. Work experience in contemporary art, ecologically sustainable event production, service design processes, and knowledge on media sphere is an advantage. We are looking for someone flexible and competent, who is comfortable in a small work community and is inspired by a varied job description.
